What is Pinky:st? this is a series of small doll figures about 1:16 in scale created by designer BABYSue in Japan. Produced by Vance Toys, Pinky:st dolls have the unique characteristic of interchangeable parts. Don't like a particular doll's head? - swap the head from one doll to the body of another, or switch tops, bottoms, or hairstyles to create a new doll.
Currently sold exclusively in the Japanese market, Pinky:St dolls appeal to the human nature's fascination with miniature 'humans'. In this case, interchangeable parts mean that Pinky:st owners can personalize and create their own unique versions of these dolls. Repainted versions with lighter hair colors and different clothing options contribute to the many possible combinations, and unique figure garage kits plus limited edition collaborations help to fuel the Pinky:st trend.

I tried for one year to resist this temptation, but eventually gave in to the Pinky:st phenomenon in late 2004. I now am the proud owner of 51 doll figures, and have also acquired several 'garage kits' in the goal of casting and creating custom pieces:

On a recent trip to upstate New York, we decided to stop at Niagara Falls on our way back through Canada. The gang oo'd and ah'd over the sight of all that water.
